Does downloading eso with client need unpacking files?

V the elder scroll 'number 5' from which TES Online. TU is completely inspired Zenimax is a little bit short on their game unfortunately Syzzle View Profile View Posts. For some reason you can't open the launcher to install the game through the steam library, only the shortcut. The 35gb that appears on the launcher, isn't a download, the launcher is extracting the files, not downloading them, if you check the "download speed" you will see that it is way higher than your internet speed.

Steam only holds the game, not the patches, after installing the game you will download through the launcher something like 8GB of patches. I downloaded it from Steam and it's working really fine. This folder is where the TESO launcher downloads the same files - it is not unpacking them. Check your Steam folders. My question is - is it safe to delete the original Steam DL folder, or will Steam try to reacquire the files again before allowing the game to be launched. Or, now that my account is activated can I DL the whole lot from the official site and avoid using Steam altogether to save the 36GB that Steam seems to insist on having?

And my entire Zenimax Online folder only has 45GB in it. Oh, you're playing on the Europe Server. Last edited by Syzzle ; 29 Nov, am.
